FALL FOR PASTELS
Pastels aren’t just for summer. They’re so many fabulous faded shades around this winter, like baby blue and the super popular millennial pink. I’ve always admired the sugar almond coloured houses around Kentish Town in London so this was the ideal location for our latest shoot. Take a look……

LAST OF THE SUMMER WHITE
There’s nothing like a British summer! I know this shoot looks all sunny and effortless but behind the scenes we were dodging the rain, rushing for cover in between each shot. The location, a beautiful country house in Essex complete with rolling lawns and meadows was perfect for this boho style shoot. I love this look with its white flowing cotton and lace and really hoping for an Indian Summer so were can wear it a little longer – I’m not ready for heavy autumnal layers just yet…

SWEPT AWAY
When most people think of fashion shoots, they always imagine they’re terribly glamorous. Well, I’m afraid it’s not always the case. Working in fashion, you’re constantly shooting out of season. Our poor models are always baking in faux fur coats in the middle of Summer or freezing to death in bikinis in the depth of Winter.
Another myth is that we’re always jetting off to somewhere amazingly exotic – maybe Bali, Maldives or Fiji? No such luck, this time I was heading for the not quite so sunny Kent!
Dungeness is one of the most unusual places I have ever visited with its barren flat landscape and nuclear power station. On the plus side, this beachside location does have amazing light. Unfortunately for our crew, we plumped for the coldest, windy day ever – It must have been over 20 knots. I felt chilled to the bone even in all my layers of sweaters and puffa jacket. How our amazing model Ishika kept her act together in these flimsy cotton and lace little numbers I’ll never know. But she did, not complaining once as the wind practically blew her hair away. What a trooper! Anyhow all is forgotten when we look back at the pics. I love them and can now only think warm thoughts!

THE LAST TANGO
I love the drama of the tango – black lace, salsa dresses, Cuban heels and blood red roses. So, I was in quite a quiver about this Latin shoot. As you can see our South American model, Nohemi was perfect for the role. We had such fun creating this smouldering look – I hope you enjoy it too!

ORIENT EXPRESSED
I have two beautiful Chinese screens at home that had never been used on a shoot, so it was high time they were put to some good use. Opulent fabrics are abundant this season and I knew they would contrast wonderfully with the dark veneer of the screens. I opted for rich reds, pale petal pinks and some fabulous metallic little numbers to give a magnificent oriental vibe. Our model Sofie was perfect for this story with her glorious auburn hair. Make-up artist, Anna perfected her tresses evoking a pre-Raphaelite feel. Photographer Ian worked his magic with all sorts of innovative lighting and hey presto here are the fabulous images……..

THE DENIM EDIT

Denim has a fresh new feel. This season we’re seeing it embellished with amazing embroidery and covered in 70’s style patches. Complete the look with little denim shorts, bralettes and ethnic jewellery. To echo this strong 70’s slant, we shot this denim story very much in keeping with the era with fab flared light, shooting through blossom for a Spring time look. I love it!

A HELPING HANDBAG
There’s nothing like a handbag to get your heartbeat racing. These bags designed by Alida Boer, former Miss Guatemala, definitely pulled at my heartstrings as they help support women from some of the poorest communities in her native country.
After Alida’s amazing success as an international model she decided to put something back into her country. Always a lover of handbags she decided she would help train women from 16 underdeveloped communities in sewing, embroidery and design to produce premium bags thus creating jobs for them with fair pay. Yay! And so the brand Maria’s Bag was born.
All these bags are so beautiful with their intricate embroidery work, all one of a kind and taking up to 3 months to create. Each region of Guatemala has its own unique embroidery style – geometric shapes, animals, landscapes, flowers and in some cases stories and legends!
Maria’s Bag is an amazing collection of fab soft clutches, bucket bags and totes. Prices start from £75.00. Take a look at www.mariasbag.co.uk you’re bound to find something fabulous for Christmas
MYLEENE KLASS’S UNDERWATER SWIMWEAR SHOOT

Yippee! The weather is meant to be good this weekend – about time too! I’m getting all geared up for a little trip to our local lido. First step, buy a cossie. Whilst trawling through the internet I came across these amazing pictures of Myleene Klass in her fab new swimwear range for Littlewoods. I decided to delve deeper into this underwater shoot….

It was shot in the very swanky Haymarket Hotel in London. The basement of this hotel has the most glorious pool. I have been to quite a few press launches there and it’s very glam!

Obviously Myleene is no stranger to swimwear. It’s actually been 10 years since we saw her in that infamous white bikini on I’m A Celebrity’, but these shots are a different class – if you excuse the pun. I’m so impressed how Myleene looks so serene in these images. It can’t be easy doing an underwater shoot in the first place, but coping with swimming with heels and chunky jewellery must have been quite something.

I decided to find out from the lady herself. Myleene told, “It was the most physically challenging shoot I’ve ever done. We had three safety divers on hand and the challenge of shooting my swimwear whilst maintaining the right level in the water, as well as keeping the look as ethereal as possible in one breath was no mean feat.”
“I absolutely loved the experience of shooting underwater. My Dad was a navy diver, so I’ve grown up splashing in the ocean but this shoot was one I’ll never forget.”
Myleene went on to explain, “I had to micro manage my breath to float at the right distance from the bottom of the pool, remove bubbles from my face for the photographer whilst looking composed.”

I’ve ordered the beautiful, palm print swimsuit and obviously expecting to look just like Myleene in mine! So what advice would the goddess of swimwear give to us mortals?
“Wear a bikini or swimsuit that gives you the support where you need it, pop on a glam cover up to take you from the beach to the bar and as my auntie would say ‘stand tall’.”
KIDS FASHION – LONDON CALLING

I love London and obviously love fashion, so styling this kids photo shoot was perfect for me. These striking images for glossy magazine, Little London were shot in two phases. Firstly, talented kids’ photographer, Daniel Pangbourne ‘set the scene’ shooting the background photos. He really put in some leg work here, zooming around London shooting the most iconic buildings from The Albert Hall in Kensington to The Shard in London Bridge. Luckily, a fabulously sunny day was chosen where the sky was vibrant blue – a rarity in London Town!
A couple of weeks later we did the kids photo shoot in The Factory Studio, South London. The models, photographer Daniel and lovely hair & make-up artist, Rose met up at the studio bright and early. As per usual my car was groaning under the strain of so many amazing clothes by designers such as Stella McCartney, Stone Island and Bonpoint. We had a very busy day. The kids were fantastic – running, leaping and jumping around the studio against a white backdrop. What energy!
After these two shoots, the images were digitally combined to produce theses stunning images. So here you have it – CAPITAL FASHION!
